'B-Raf & Melanoma'

 

Professor Marais' main area of expertise is in how cells communicate with their environment and in melanoma. His current projects include understanding how mutations in RAF proteins that are induced by ultraviolet light lead to melanoma, and how this information can be used to develop new therapeutic strategies that can be used to treat this potentially lethal form of skin cancer.
